Minnesota League Names CEO

MINNEAPOLIS-The Minnesota CU Network has hired Mark Cummins, vice chairman of the CU Association of Colorado and president of Denver-based White Crown FCU, as its new CEO.

Cummins has 28 years experience in financial services and has served on the boards of CU Indirect Lending, the CUES Rocky Mountain Council Board and played various roles with SunCorp CU and the Colorado league.

He succeeds Kevin Chandler, who now is CEO of the Connecticut CU League.

Member of Founders Club Passes

LEWISTON, Maine-Roger Bissonnette, active in credit unions since 1939, and one of the original members of the Maine CU Movement Founders Club, died last week at 86. Bissonnette got involved in credit unions during the Great Depression as a volunteer for St. Famille FCU. He also helped charter several other credit unions and eventually served as president of the Maine CU League, from 1971 to 1974.

NCUF Gives CUs Deadline

WASHINGTON-CUs have until Dec. 29 to apply through the National Credit Union Foundation for funds available in Fiscal Year 2007 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to counsel potential homebuyers with low- to moderate-incomes. NCUF will re-grant the HUD funds to help CUs start new housing counseling programs or supplement existing programs.
