Ent FCU Hits $2 Billion in Assets

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.-Ent FCU, one of the largest financial institutions in the Pikes Peak region, said it has surpassed $2 billion in assets.

Ent said it is Colorado's 11th-largest financial institution and the nation's 36th-largest CU.

In 1957, Ent was established when a group of 30 Ent Air Force Base personnel pooled $602 in deposits to form the credit union.

Nearly 50 years later, the CU has more than 161,000 members.

Ent has doubled in size since 1995, and said it plans to continue to grow and add additional service centers in the Pikes Peak Region in 2007.

Atlantic Financial Pays Bonus

BALTIMORE-Atlantic Financial FCU returned nearly half million dollars back to more than 11,600 members in a dividend and interest bonus for 2006.

Each member in good standing received 10% of the interest they earned in all of their savings and 10% of the interest they paid on all of their loans in 2006.

Reardon Tapped As State Regulator

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland has appointed Mahoning County Treasurer John B. Reardon as superintendent of financial institutions, which oversees state-chartered credit unions, as well as banks, savings and loans, consumer finance companies and mortgage brokers.

NYSCUL Offers Grant For Small CUs

LATHAM, N.Y.-Small asset-size credit unions have opportunities for growth and development through the New York State Credit Union League's "2007 Making the Strategic Connection" program.

The league, in conjunction with its Consulting Services Department and in partnership with the New York Credit Union Foundation, seeks qualified credit unions for this process, which includes strategic planning workshops, development of a functional marketing plan and marketing budget and integration of a comprehensive financial forecast.

NYSCUL-affiliated credit unions with fewer than $10 million in assets as of June 30, 2005 are eligible.

Credit unions that wish to be considered for this project must send their information to the League and have it postmarked by Feb. 28.
