NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.-Merrimack Valley Federal Credit Union has launched a new corporate identity and brand strategy for 2007, featuring a new logo and tag line "Just your everyday credit union."

"The new brand will re-emphasize what we have done here at MVFCU for years and what we will continue to do, which is be here everyday for our members at every point in their life," said Peter J. Matthews Jr., CEO of MVFCU.

BSA Seminar On NCUA Website

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA has made available on its website a web seminar it hosted in conjunction with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) entitled, "BSA: A Year in Review and Setting the Table for 2007."

The web seminar provided information and guidance to credit unions about their BSA obligations. Specific topics included top BSA compliance issues, recent regulatory changes, how to prepare for a BSA compliance review, FinCEN's role as BSA administrator, the value of BSA data; and more.

PFCU Paid $500K Dividend

PITTSFORD, N.Y.-Pittsford FCU has paid an extraordinary divided of $500,000 to members. The dividend was calculated as a percentage of all dividends earned on deposits and interest paid on lians during 2006.

New $1 Coins Now Available

WASHINGTON-The United States Mint has launched the new Presidential $1 Coin. The first coin in the series is the George Washington coin, which will be followed by coins honoring Adams, Jefferson and Madison later this year. The reverse side features the Statue of Liberty and the edge is imprinted with the text, E Pluribus Unum and In God We Trust.

Firstmark CU Launches HSAs

SAN ANTONIO, Texas-Firstmark Credit Union has added Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to its list of products and services.

The $603-million CU said it believes it is the first credit union in San Antonio to offer an HSA combined with debit card access.

Available to any individual who is covered by a High-Deductible Health Plan, HSAs are designed to help individuals and families save for qualified medical expenses.

They offer tax-free deposits and tax-free earnings. Even withdrawals are tax-free when they are used to pay qualified medical expenses.
