SECU Offering New Mutual Funds

RALEIGH, N.C.-State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) is now offering select Vanguard mutual funds to members through its broker, XCU Capital Corporation. The brokerage services are offered by Registered Representatives of XCU Capital who are also salaried employees of the credit union.

SECU said the brokerage services are a follow-up to its Financial Assessment Tool introduced last year.

The Financial Assessment tool gives members the opportunity to evaluate their general financial condition (net worth and cash flow) and identify progress towards meeting financial goals such as retirement and education funding. Members can also determine the adequacy of life insurance protection and whether they have sufficient emergency funds on hand.

'Dream' Ownership Offered

ATLANTA, Ga.-CDC FCU has teamed up with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to offer the Georgia Dream Homeownership Program. Through this program, members of law enforcement, firefighters, the military, educators and nurses are now able to receive up to $7,500 in down-payment assistance, and some may also qualify for a low-interest rate or zero-interest mortgage.

In addition, the program also targets borrowers with moderate incomes and modest assets throughout Georgia communities. Other benefits include the availability of a 100%, 30-year fixed-rate purchase money mortgage at a below-market rate, no prepayment penalty and an assumable loan feature that allows the member to pass along the advantageous terms to a new buyer at time of sale.

LCCU Unveils New Site, Logo

CAMAS, Wash.-Lacamas Community Credit Union (LCCU) has adopted a new logo, and has launched a complete redesign of its website at www.lacamas.org. The new logo symbolizes the camas lily, a deep blue flower found in its hometown. The credit union said the logo is also is a graphical representation of a person with outstretched arms, symbolizing its service to its fellow members and the community.
