FSCC Pays Its Highest Dividend

SAN DIMAS, Calif.-Financial Service Centers Cooperative, Inc (FSCC), said it will pay an all-time high Patronage Dividend of more than $2 million to member credit unions for transactions performed in 2006. The dividend, which is a nearly 12% increase over 2005, will be distributed to patrons following FSCC's annual audit some time in April.

The dividend is paid out to shareholders for acquired transactions performed in their branches. Additionally, FSCC announced that in December 2006, the network distributed nearly $400,000 to shareholders for acquired transactions.

NAFCU Names Morris EVP

WASHINGTON-NAFCU has named Patrick J. Morris its new executive vice president. Morris comes to NAFCU from the Washington-based International Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS), where he has served as the executive director since 2003.

INCITS is an accredited standards development organization and the leading developer of global information technology standards.

Morris also has financial services and lobbying experience, having led the Kansas Association of Insurance Agents as its executive vice president from 1995-2000, and while an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps held a series of positions in the federal government, including the prestigious Presidential Management Internship Program where he served as a legislative assistant to Sen. John Warner.

New Healthcare CU Assn. Formed

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-The Association of Healthcare Credit Unions (AHCU) has been formed to serve credit unions serving related professional fields. The group is planning to hold its first-ever annual meeting April 19-21 at the Marriott Sawgrass Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

"I'd had this concept for a number of years, but it took John (Saatela) to really get it going," said Maury Pilver, president of HealthAmerica Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla. and co-founder of AHCU. Added Saatela, CEO of Tenet Credit Union in Los Alamitos, Calif.,

VSECU Looks Into Name Change

MONTPELIER-The Vermont State Employees Credit Union is putting a name change before its membership for approval. On March 26 members will be asked to change the CU's name to Veristate Credit Union.
