CUANM Raises $45K For Hospital
ALBUQUERQUE-The Credit Union Association of New Mexico and its affiliated credit unions raised $45,000 for the University of New Mexico Children's Hospital at CUANM's annual Convention, and Silver Star Classic golf tournament.
The CUs of New Mexico, spearheaded by CUANM, are working to raise $1 million by 2009 for the construction and equipment of the new pediatric emergency unit in the new UNM Hospital addition.
Parsons Featured AT NASCUS Event
Arlington, Va.-D. Scott Parsons, former U.S. Treasury Deputy Assistant Secretary, will speak at the NASCUS State System Summit.
In his role at the U.S. Treasury's Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection and Compliance Policy, Parsons was responsible for protecting the critical physical and cyber infrastructures of the financial services sector. He also managed the Financial and Banking Information Infrastructure Committee, a coalition of federal financial regulators who work cooperatively in disaster recovery efforts. Expert Offers BSA Compliance Tips
COLUMBUS, Ohio-Mark W. Dever, AAP, senior consultant with Professional Bank Services, offered insights on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance environment during his remarks at two training sessions hosted by Corporate One FCU.
"Credit unions who have been examined so far this year have indicated that a new area of focus on the part of the federal examiners has been the BSA impacts to the ACH processing environment, and the identifying and reporting of suspicious transactions," he said.
DuTrac Earns SBA Preferred Status
Dubuque, Iowa-The Small Business Administration has approved the DuTrac Community CU as a preferred lender.
One of the loan programs DuTrac Community Credit Union offers is the New Patriot Express Loan Initiative, which focuses on the military community including: veterans, service-disabled, active-duty in transition, Reserve and Guard, spouses and related groups.
