LCUL, NCUF Form Disaster Fund
HARAHAN, La.-The Louisiana Credit Union League and the National Credit Union Foundation are partnering to create a statewide CU disaster relief reserve fund.
The league-designated fund will be administered by NCUF and capitalized by the Community Investment Fund.
Feeney Wins Pierre Jay Award
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-Texas CU Department Commissioner Harold E. Feeney won the NASCUS 2007 Pierre Jay Award. Feeney has been involved with NASCUS for nearly 20 years, having served as chairman, board member and active participant in NASCUS committees and programs.
Wescom Opens 50th Branch
PASADENA, Calif.-Wescom CU has opened its 50th branch with a new facility in Santa Barbara, Calif. The newest branch will not be the last and is part of an ongoing strategy by Wescom to significantly increase its number of branches by 2010. The $3.9-billion Wescom has more than doubled its number of locations over the past five years.
$100K Raised For Cancer Research
MADISON, Wis.-The 2007 Drive for Hope golf tournament, organized in part by CUES, presented a check for $100,000 to Dr. Anne Traynor, head of the University of Wisconsin Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive CancerCenter lung research program.
