Rosenthal Elected Chair Of CCDFI

ARLINGTON, Va.-Cliff Rosenthal, executive director of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions, has been elected chairman of the Coalition of Community Development Financial Institutions. After being elected, Rosenthal praised the group for its opening of an office in Washington, D.C. Kerwin Tesdell, president of the Community Development Venture Capital Alliance will serve as vice-chair; Lisa Richter, Fund Advisor to the National Community Investment Fund was elected Treasurer; and the Woodstock Institute's President Malcolm Bush will serve as the organization's Secretary.

CEO's Son Wins Youth Golf Tourney

CHARLESTON, S.C.-Austin Cody, son of heritage Trust FCU CEO Quince Cody, won the 9-10 year-old division of the Callaway World Golf Junior Championship in San Diego. Austin Cody shot a three-round score of 162 on the par 57 Pine Glen course to beat South Korea's Byrong Hunan by two shots. Tiger Woods got his start in the same tournament when he was younger.

Disaster Relief Loans Offered

SAN ANTONIO-The $384-million San Antonio Teachers Credit Union is offering members a "Disaster Relief Loan Program" to cover losses from a major flood event, major fire event or an act of God that results in significant loss of life and/or property. The maximum dollar amount on the loans will typically be $20,000, with the first payment not due for 120 days. The APR is 4.75%, with terms from 12 to 24 months, and the term for these loans may extend from 12 to 24 months. Many of the credit union's members in Bexar and 12 surrounding counties have been affected by recent flooding.
