Cease-And-Desist Order Terminated

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark.-NCUA has terminated a cease-and-desist order issued on June 1, 2004, against Northeast Arkansas FCU to correct substantial accounting problems. The agency indicated problems have been rectified. Northeast Arkansas Federal was originally chartered in 1959 to serve military and civilian employees on Blytheville Air Force Base. Today it serves more than 175 select groups and people of modest means.

'Marketing Challenge' Is On Tap

SAN DIEGO-When CUES hosts its Nexus Conference here in April, credit union marketing executives will be challenged to participate in the first-ever Marketing Challenge based on the format of the NBC TV show "The Apprentice." Designed to benefit the San Diego Children's Museum, participants will spend a day creating a promotional advertising campaign for the museum.

Gen. Franks To Speak At GAC

WASHINGTON-Gen. Tommy Franks, Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Central Command from 2000 to 2003, and who oversaw troop deployments in both Afghanistan and Iraq after a three-decade career in the military, has agreed to speak to CUNA's GAC in February. CUNA said General Franks is expected to provide observations on the global war on terrorism as well as the broader themes of leadership, citizenship and values.
