15 Participate In Oxford Program

OXFORD, England-Fifteen people have completed the Credit Union Executives Society's Oxford Programme on Negotiation in Oxford, England. Held at the Said Business School, University of Oxford, participants honed their skills in the art of diplomatic persuasion, explored biases in decision-making and learned ways to overcome obstacles in oprofessional and personal realms.

Everyone's Moving In Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa-The Iowa League, Iowa Corporate Central and several subsidiaries are moving to new digs, although the mailing addresses will remain the same. The 95,000 square-foot building at 1500 N.W. 118th St., Des Moines, was built in 1997 to house the Microware Systems Corp. headquarters. Also making the move will be The Members Group, which offers a broad array of services. CEO Tom Kuehl noted that in the case of TMG, it has grown to 132 new employees and needs new space. Joining TMG, the league and the corporate will also be Community Business Lenders, a new CUSO targeting business lending for Iowa credit unions.

Mercer Wins Seat On CUNA Board

MADISON, Wis.-Paul Mercer has been elected by to the District 2, Class D position on CUNA's board. Mercer, CEO of the Ohio league, was the only candidate in the special election for the seat vacated when Bob Walls moved from Delaware to become the president of the New Jersey league.

Calif. League Wins APEX Awards

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.-For the ninth consecutive year, the California Credit Union League earned honors in the annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. The league won an Award of Excellence in the Total Publications Program category. Individual awards went to Graphic Designer Natalie J. Moreno for the design of the May 2004 Credit Union Digest cover, and John Drago, director of IT, and David Sneed, web applications specialist, who were recognized in the Web and Electronic Newsletters category for Public Advocacy Profile.
