NCUA Liquidates Homesteaders

ALEXANDRIA, Va.-NCUA has liquidated Homesteaders FCU of New York, N.Y. and transferred the credit union's member accounts to the Lower East Side People's FCU of New York City. The agency said the $4.2-million asset Homesteaders FCU was insolvent.

LESPFCU has $15.9 million in assets and serves approximately 4,600 members in Metropolitan New York.

Graham Elected To CUNA Board

MADISON, Wis.-John A. Graham, CEO of Kentucky Employees CU, Frankfort, has been elected to CUNA's board in a special election.

Graham won the District 2, Class A board seat vacated by Jim Oliva when he became ineligible after taking a position with a Class B credit union.

CU Pioneer, Nesbitt, Dies At 81

SANDUSKY, Ohio-Joe Nesbitt, a co-founder and for a time also president of Ford Motor Credit Union here has died of leukemia. Mr. Nesbitt was 81.

Founded in the last 1950s, today the credit union is known as Erie Community FCU.

Mr. Nesbitt, who also served on the credit union's board, was very active with the Council of Automotive Credit Unions.
