Jury Named CEO Of Iowa League
DES MOINES, Iowa-The Iowa Credit Union League has named Patrick S. Jury as president/CEO, effective July 1. Jury had been vice president with the league and will replace Tom Griffiths, who plans to retire after 33 years with the league. Jury joined the ICUL in 1989 as director of Government Affairs and was promoted to vice president in 1993. Griffiths has been CEO since 1985.

MADISON, Wis.-Online registration is open for CUNA Mutual Group's Discovery Conference 2006-"Ideas. Inspiration. Innovation." The 11th annual Discovery Conference will be at the Wynn Las Vegas June 21-24. Attendees signing up before April 17 will receive a discounted registration rate of $900, with further discounts available when three or more attend from one CU or organization. NAFCU Prepares For Annual
TORONTO-NAFCU has unveiled more plans for its Annual Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for July 12-15 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre here. Themed will be "Imagine the Possibilities," the meeting will have 35 educational sessions in five different tracks. Among those addressing the meeting will be Ben Stein, the only man to be an advisor to President Nixon and appear in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." In addition, the Friday evening entertainment will be "Cirque NAFCU."

NCUA Takes Over Nebraska CU
WASHINGTON-NCUA has taken over control of the $38.7-million Union Pacific Streamline FCU, Omaha, Neb. Service to its 7,500 members has gone uninterrupted. The agency cited "classic mismanagement" in placing the CU in conservatorship.
PROVO, Utah-The $25-million Mountain High FCU has opened a Latino-oriented branch here. According to the Spanish Fork, Utah-based credit union, the branch will educate members on basic financial matters such as balancing a checkbook, credit, loans, using computers and learning English. It also will have an in-house attorney available for members.
