LINO LAKES, Minn. – Core processing provider Sharetec System here announced Thursday that WSSC FCU in Laurel, Md., has selected the company to provide its new core system.
Jeffrey Goff, CEO of $24 million WSSC FCU, said management chose Sharetec because the CU and the company share a common philosophy on how to build and maintain mutually beneficial long-term relationships.
"This was evident from our first contact and from the attention given to us during the evaluation process," Goff said in a statement. "We are looking forward to the efficiencies we will gain from our conversion and to working with a partner that enables us to grow our credit union for many years to come."
Joseph Reis, regional director for Sharetec, said, "The team at WSSC FCU really did their due diligence in this process. With 3,125 members, WSSC FCU has the needs of a much larger financial institution. WSSC FCU wanted a strong core system but their vision called for more than that. Therefore WSSC FCU also is installing Mobile Products, Online Membership Products, Shared Branching and Remote eSignatures."
According to Reis, WSSC FCU and Sharetec have put together a system that will "do everything" the members need at an "affordable" price point.
WSSC FCU was founded in 1964 and currently serves the employees and retirees of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and their families. WSSC contractors also are eligible to join.
