The Maryland Credit Union League and the Maryland Credit Union Foundation along with a number of credit unions in the state have created the Youth Outreach Council. Credit union representatives interested in youth activities were invited to form a youth committee, facilitated by a half-day orientation session which featured Heather Harris, a youth advocate from the Michigan League, and LeAnn Achtenberg, National Youth Invovlement Board Chairman. Among the credit unions that participated in the project included: Andrews FCU, Aberdeen Proving Ground FCU, Energy FCU, First Financial FCU, Fort Meade Community CU, MECU of Baltimore, MCT FCU and Prince George's Employees FCU.
