Zmolek replaces William Hayes, who retires Dec. 31 after 34 years with the credit union. Zmolek, currently EVP, begins his new role Jan. 1.

“I’m excited to continue Verity’s mission of enhancing members’ lives through exceptional financial services,” Zmolek said. “We have come through the recession in a good position to grow and enhance our products and services.”

Zmolek started with Verity in 1986 as a board member, and moved to chief financial officer in 1990.

He has filled many roles at the $400 million credit union, including executive in charge of information technology, chief lending officer and president of CU Home Mortgage Solutions, which provides mortgage services to Verity and other Washington credit unions.
