I just wanted to take a moment to thank Aaron Passman for his fine article, "CMN Sets Billion-Dollar Goal, Raising Stakes For All" (August 20, 2012). Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has forged a wonderful partnership with the credit union community over the last 17 years and in that time credit unions have established a remarkable legacy at children's hospitals throughout the United States.
One particular case, which I failed to mention in the article, has been the generous support of credit unions in Southwest Washington who have teamed with their Oregon counterparts to serve the kids treated at Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.
Their collective efforts have helped establish a Credit Unions for Kids program that is a model for credit unions throughout the country.
