Voyage FCU, Sioux Falls, S.D., raised $100 for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society at the 14th annual "Bark in the Park" event. Voyage brought its hashtag wall to be used as a backdrop to take pictures. For every picture taken, shared and commented on through Facebook, Voyage FCU donated $1 to the local shelter.

SECU Invests in Hospice Center

State Employees' CU, Raleigh, N.C., and its SECU Foundation made a $1 million investment in the SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Health Care, an inpatient and residential hospice facility. The SECU Foundation also made a $500,000 capital grant toward SECU Lecture Hall, a 200-seat conference area inside Fellowship Hall's new Outpatient Center.

Record Year for Relay for Life

Diamond CU, Pottstown, Pa., supported the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for the 11th year. It was a record year for fundraising: $90,000, bringing its 11-year total to more than $736,000.

Scott CU, Edwardsville, Ill., presented a $1,000 check for sponsorship of this year's Songs4Soldiers benefit concert at Bolm-Schuhkraft City Park. The CU also pledged $250,000 over the next five years to support the new St. Elizabeth's Hospital being built in O'Fallon.

School Supplies Drive

AventaCares, the nonprofit foundation of Aventa CU, Colorado Springs, Colo., hosted its first annual school supplies drive for students in need. It raised more than $600 in school supplies and monetary donations from Aventa staff and members in one month, donated directly to schools in the three regions served by Aventa.
