Affinity Plus
Employees of Affinity Plus CU, Grand Rapids, Minn., are marking their fourth year of volunteering with Meals on Wheels to help deliver meals to program participants.
Workers
In Fitchburg, Mass., as part of Workers CUs rebranding effort, employees turned in old CU apparel to raise $5,400 for the American Cancer Society and Habitat for Humanity in Acton.
Xceed
Xceed Financial CU, El Segundo, Calif., awarded 10 young members $1,000 each to help pay for college through Xceeds Romeo Doty Scholarship program.
FORUM
FORUM CU, Indianapolis, held its second annual Foundation Summer Reception to honor the Foundations current and previous educator grant and collegiate scholarship recipients. Fifteen teachers from central Indiana received grants, seven high school seniors received scholarships and seven students in the first year of scholarships were recognized and awarded an additional $5,000.
Holy Rosary
Holy Rosary CU, Rochester, N.H., awarded college scholarships to 11 local high school graduates from five local schools.
Hopewell
Hopewell FCU, Heath, Ohio, awarded its $1,000 scholarship to Robyn Thomson, a graduate from Newark High School who will attend Wright State University.
Security Service
Security Service FCU, San Antonio, donated $2,500 to the Martinez Street Womens Center. The donation will support the Girl Zone Summer Camp, focused on enhancing the academic potential and nurturing the self-esteem of girls ages 9-14 who come from low-income families.
Dutch Point
Dutch Point CU, Bloomfield, Conn., hosted a free shred day and Community Festival on the Bloomfield Town Green that included games, prizes, and live music performed by Susan Mazer and Megan Chenot of The Keith and Mazer Trio.
APG
APGFCU, Aberdeen, Md., hosted its 12th annual Community Invitational tournament for local youth softball and baseball teams at the Ripken Youth Baseball Academy in Aberdeen.
HFS
The members and staff of HFS FCU, Hilo, Hawaii, held a 2-month fundraiser that brought in more than $34,000 to benefit Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, its local Childrens Miracle Network Hospital.
Bronco
Bronco FCU, Franklin, Va., regularly collects non-perishable food items for its local food bank, Franklin Cooperative Ministries. CEO Brian Hedgepeth challenged his staff with a lofty goal of collecting 5,000 lbs. this year, and the response was 7,200 lbs. of food.
Sun East
Sun East FCU, Aston, Pa., gave the Sun East Employee Student Education Award to Sydney Lamoureux for academic achievement and volunteer efforts. In addition, the CU gave awards for community service to 19 students and four teachers.
Cal League
Nearly 40 credit union CEOs, CFOs and other executives from across California were closer to preparing for 2017 after attending Your EconomyYour Credit Union, hosted by the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues at a Wescom CU office in Anaheim Hills, Calif.
Indiana Members
Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, acquired the former Meridian Music property in Carmels Old Meridian District. The two-story building will house a new technology focused branch and serve as a north side operation center for IMCU.
