Patelco CU, Pleasanton, Calif., is the naming rights sponsor of a new sports complex at Bernal Community Park. The Patelco Sports Complex, a state-of-the-art facility, officially opened to the public with a dedication ceremony attended by the Pleasanton City Council.
BECU goes beyond the state border
Tukwila, Wash.-based BECU opened its first financial centers outside of Washington state. It now has two small branches located on Boeing’s manufacturing site in North Charleston, S.C.
TBA provides for teacher training
TBA Credit Union, Traverse City, Mich., donated $8,000 to Traverse City Area Public Schools. The funds will support more than 400 educators participating in the Darkness to Light training program.
CHOC donation
Employees of NuVision FCU, Huntington Beach, Calif., raised more than $7,000 through the CHOC Walk in the Park at Disneyland Resort, bringing the CU’s total raised for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County to more than $87,000 since 2010.

RTN FCU, Waltham, Mass., donated winter clothing to Community Day Center in Waltham.
Support for survivors
Frontier Community CU, Leavenworth, Kan., donated $1,500, and the Armed Forces Financial Network made a matching contribution of $1,500, to support the Survivor Outreach Services program, part of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Fort Leavenworth.
Relocation and renovation
Andigo CU, Schaumburg, Ill., said J.C. Anderson, Inc., completed renovation of a 28,000-square-foot office and branch addition. The credit union, formerly known as Motorola Employees CU, relocated to a different location in Schaumburg.
Second-year sponsorship
Georgia United CU, Duluth, Ga., is in its second year as a corporate sponsor of Junior Achievement’s JA BizTown and JA Finance Park at the Junior Achievement Gwinnett Discovery Center. Sixth-graders run a simulated business in a simulated economy.
Free bus passes
Two employees from FreeStar Financial CU, Clinton Township, Mich., boarded the 560/565 southbound Gratiot bus to hand out free bus passes. The staffers rode the bus to downtown Detroit and then back to the 16 and Gratiot area, handing out 39 free bus passes.

Catholic FCU, Saginaw, Mich., was named one of Michigan’s Best and Brightest in Wellness. The program celebrates companies that make their businesses, employees and communities healthier.
