Phoenix-based Canyon State CU teamed with its members, staff and partners to deliver more than 150,000 diapers during KTAR’s Mac & Gaydos’ annual Caring for Kids event benefitting Child Crisis Arizona.

TBA goes to the dogs

The staff of TBA CU, Traverse City, Mich., raised $750 and donated it to Silver Muzzle Cottage, a rescue and hospice program that takes in homeless senior dogs and places them with foster families, or gives dogs given a limited time to live a place in hospice.

Wreaths to recognize servicemembers

Throughout the year NuMark CU, Joliet, Ill., collects donations for the “Wreaths Across America” project, dedicated to honoring our nation’s heroes for their ultimate sacrifice. In total NuMark raised $3,000 and sponsored 300 wreaths. The money was collected through staff donations, American flag sales, member donations and a contribution matched by NuMark.

Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, presented a check for $1,527 to Zionsville Community High School, Zionsville, Ind., as part of an ongoing school spirit debit card program.

Quilt raffle to kick cancer

Western Cooperative CU, Williston, N.D., held a Quilt Raffle with proceeds going to the Cancer Crushers Relay for Life team. WCCU employee Jan Swenson worked very hard on the beautiful quilt she donated for the raffle. WCCU employees went out and sold tickets at $1 each, raising a total of $1,562.

How Del-One raised funds to help Delaware.

In Dover, Del., Del-One FCU’s Del-One Foundation raised more than $47,000 in 2016 through candy sales, membership dues, employee jeans days, painting events and its 5th annual charity golf tournament. The funds were donated to charities that benefit the residents of Delaware.

New branch in the Aloha State

Honolulu-based Hawaii State FCU opened its newly renovated Pearlridge branch in Aiea, Hawaii. The facility was designed and built by NewGround with innovative, state-of-the-art technology and personalized service options to provide teller pods as a more personal alternative to the traditional teller line.

Aberdeen Proving Ground FCU, Aberdeen, Md., sponsored its first Millionaire's Club at North Harford HS in Pylesville, Md. Separately, APGFCU answered Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna’s “Giving Tuesday” challenge by donating $15,000, of which $3,000 will be matched.

Education Plus CU, Monroe Mich., raised $3,000 for and provided countless donations to residents of the Oaks of Righteousness Homeless Shelter.
