Holy Rosary
Holy Rosary CU, Rochester, N.H., held a ribbon cutting with the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce as a part of the official unveiling of its completed Brock Street branch renovation.
1st Advantage
1st Advantage FCU, Newport News, Va., received three awards from the Coastal Virginia Magazine Best of Readers' Choice Awards for the Peninsula category: Best Credit Union, Best Mortgage Company and Best Financial Planning Company.
Vantage West
Vantage West CU, Tucson, Ariz., partnered with AZ Bilingual to have several area elementary school kids learn how a credit union works and what it is like to be a chief executive officer after spending the day shadowing Robert D. Ramirez, the CU's president and CEO.
SECU
For six years, State Employees' CU, Raleigh, N.C., has helped the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency spread the word about mortgage assistance programs offered through the North Carolina Foreclosure Prevention Fund.
Indiana Members
Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members CU, Indianapolis, received a $4,500 grant from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to help the Foundation with its mission of providing area school children with the necessities essential for succeeding in their education.
St. Annes
Each year, St. Anne's CU, Fall River, Mass., awards the Deacon Bernard G. Theroux scholarship to a deserving student at St. Stanislaus School.
Michigan Community
Michigan Community CU, Jackson, Mich., awarded $1,000 scholarships to four area high school seniors based on their excellence in academics and outstanding community service.
Coastal
In Raleigh, N.C., Coastal FCU's Foundation hosted and sponsored a one-of-a-kind inaugural event Power of Sharing highlighting the efforts several nonprofits make in the Triangle. Coastal's business partners in the community and the Foundation gave $275,000 in charitable contributions to organizations that continue to make a significant difference in the community.
1st MidAmerica
1st MidAmerica CU, Bethalto, Ill., awarded four $1,000 scholarships to area high school graduates. Each of the winners wrote an essay on the topic: What would you do with $10,000 in 30 days to benefit your community?
North Central Area
North Central Area CU, Houghton Lake, Mich., hosted its inaugural "Around the Bases" Varsity Baseball/Softball Tournament. Teams from each of its four branch locations competed for a championship trophy. The one-day event served as a fundraiser for the high school teams and raised $2,225.
