Erie FCU is A-OK!

In Erie, Pa., Erie FCU’s #TeamAOK (Acts of Kindness) spent the afternoon with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, who performed live on air from the ROCKET 105 studios. The event was part of Erie FCU’s food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania.

70 meals for 70 years

Northwest FCU, Herndon, Va., marked its 70th anniversary by partnering with Northern Virginia Project GiveBack to provide meals to 500 local families in need. The credit union donated $5,250, providing 70 meals in honor of its 70 years, and employees helped deliver the meals.

Stephanie Sherrodd, president and CEO of TDECU, Lake Jackson, Texas, led the LeadHERship Workshop hosted by the University of Houston’s Bauer Women Society. During her talk, Sherrodd promoted the importance of personal and professional development, leadership skills, her experience at TDECU, and being a female leader.

Hopewell FCU expands

Heath, Ohio-based Hopewell FCU celebrated the grand opening of its newest office in Johnstown, Ohio. The 2,100-square-foot building is the third office in HFCU’s portfolio. The building was constructed by the teams of Mark Caughenbaugh Construction, LLC and Phil Claggett, Ohio Architect with Northpoint Ohio Architecture.

Golf tourney gets results

RTN FCU, Waltham, Mass., and its RTN GoodWorks Foundation raised $30,000 from its golf tournament at Oakley Country Club. These funds will help support RTN GoodWorks Foundation’s community projects and financial education efforts.

Help for those in crisis

New England FCU, Williston, Vt., donated $20,000 to Burlington’s Committee on Temporary Shelter to provide families and individuals facing the crisis of homelessness during the winter with shelter, services, housing and homelessness prevention.

Not forgotten

Merck Sharp & Dohme FCU, Chalfont, Pa., unveiled a POW/MIA National Chair of Honor, an empty chair cordoned off by a velvet rope and flanked by the American and POW/MIA flags. The chair sits empty with an inscription declaring, “You Are Not Forgotten. Since World War II more than 82,000 soldiers are unaccounted for.”
