A Reassuring Integrity

I was really sorry to read that Mr. Seidman passed away yesterday.  I have never met Mr. Seidman, but I think so fondly of him from everything that I have read and from people who have personally known him.  I have read your Lifetime Achievement article on him and was really hoping and pleased to find your remembrance of him in American Banker.

I am a graduate student at USC and recently worked on a direct research project on the RTC.  It quickly became evident to me from my research the enormous role that Mr. Seidman played in fixing our banking system after the S&Ls collapsed, and I was drawn to his extremely high level of moral character and likability.  I have always liked to think that it is possible to accomplish great things without even considering compromising your values, and it makes me feel really good to know of people like Mr. Seidman who have done this.

You are really fortunate to have known Mr. Seidman, and I wanted to thank you for sharing your memory of him.
