ACA International recognized 18 members' outstanding accomplishments in the credit and collection industry at an awards ceremony this week at the 2015 Convention & Expo in Boston.

Matt Laws, president and CEO at Wakefield & Associates Inc. in Fort Morgan, Colo. received ACA International's Member of the Year Award. Laws serves on ACA’s Board of Directors and is a member of ACA’s Judicial and Audit committees. He has been a long-time supporter and booster of ACA’s Political Action Committee, and supported Sen. Cory Gardner’s (R-Colo.) 2014 Senate election victory.

ACA also gave a posthumous award. The Jonathan Elliot Judicial Advocacy Award recognized Elliot’s dedication and achievements in the industry. An ACA Members’ Attorney Program participant since 1996, Elliot passed away on February 23 at age 59.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughters Shana and Jessica; brothers Jason and Perry; his two nephews and many other close family members.”

ACA gave the Unit Leader of the Year Award to two people.
