Unity Bank PLC of Nigeria will use anti-laundering and risk-management software from ACI Worldwide Inc.
The New York vendor, which announced the deal Wednesday, said its ACI Proactive Risk Manager automates the procedures banks must follow to comply with Nigeria's Money Laundering Prohibition Act of 2004.
Two other Nigerian companies, Access Bank PLC and Zenith Bank PLC, use the software.
"ACI has multiple users of this technology in our country, which will enhance the overall level of support," Lamis Shehu Dikko, Unity's executive director of risk management, said in an ACI press release.
Steve Wright, the president of ACI Worldwide's EMEA business, said having three major Nigerian companies using the software "is a strong vote of confidence in ACI and our commitment to this important market."
