Acquirers Form Local Midwest Chapters

The Midwest Acquirers Association is forming local chapters to bring together acquiring industry employers and prospective employees, provide members with payments industry information and share tips on selling and promoting payment services.

"The purpose is old-fashioned networking," said Mark Dunn, organizer of the first local meetings. Dunn is founder of Field Guide Enterprises LLC, a consulting firm in Hartland, Wis., and is the Midwest association's treasurer and past president.

The Wisconsin Payments Professionals first met Tuesday in Madison, Wis., followed by the initial meeting of the Chicago Payments Professionals group Wednesday in Oak Brook, Ill. The Midwest Acquirers Association is planning local meetings this fall in Louisville, Ky., and Omaha, Neb.

The association would like to work with local members to organize the events, Dunn said. It is funding the initial local meetings but plans to seek sponsors, he said.

At the Chicago chapter's meeting, Dunn said interested parties should visit the Chicago Payments Professionals group on LinkedIn.
