Airline's Flyers Can Buy With PaySecure

Sun Country Airlines' customers now may book their flights online and pay for them using Acculynk Inc.'s PaySecure method.

PaySecure enables cardholders to make payments online using PIN-debit cards. It will become a standard payment option this year on the airline's Web site, the companies said last month.

The St. Paul, Minn., airline's planes fly to destinations in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. Sun Country executives could not be reached for comment.

The discount rate for PIN-debit acceptance over the Internet can be 20 to 50 basis points lower than what a merchant acquirer charges a retail client for signature-debit card acceptance, said Danielle Duclos, Acculynk's marketing director.

Spirit Airlines, which is based in Miramar, Fla., began accepting PaySecure in January.

In July, AirTran Airways, which is based in Orlando, Fla., began accepting PaySecure as a payment option on the airline's Web site.
