American National Bankshares (AMNB) in Danville, Va., is getting a new chief executive.
The $1.3 billion-asset company said Tuesday that Jeffrey Haley will succeed Charles Majors as CEO on Jan. 1. Haley has spent the past year as an executive vice president at American National and the president and chief executive of the company's bank. He joined the company in 1997.
Majors will serve as executive chairman of both the bank and the holding company.
"Our transition plan continues to be a great success," Majors said in a press release. "Jeff has done a wonderful job as bank CEO and I am confident that he will continue to do the same in his expanded role."
Haley is expected to have executive responsibility for the company and the bank. Majors will oversee investor relations, risk management and strategic planning, the company said.
