American Express Co. will begin a series of television advertisements Sunday touting its customer service, particularly the ease of resolving charge disputes.
The ads, which will be launched online Thursday, are part of the New York financial company's ongoing "Are You a Cardmember?" campaign.
The debut of the TV commercial, which features the former tennis great John McEnroe, coincides with the start of tennis' U.S. Open. In the spot the three-time U.S. Open champion, known for his quick temper, is persuaded by an Amex representative to resolve a dispute with an umpire.
