Amex Signs Up Ritz-Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. has agreed to provide data to American Express Co. corporate customers about cardholders' purchases at its hotels.

The New York payments company said Ritz-Carlton would participate in its Hotel Folio program, which lets companies keep track of specific purchases made at hotels, including parking, in-room services and meals.

Amex said Hotel Folio can help businesses keep better track of their employees travel expenses.

"We've never seen greater corporate demand for Hotel Folio than right now, as businesses take proactive steps to control travel costs and strengthen their expense management programs," Jay Cary, the vice president for interactive product management at Amex's global commercial card unit, said in a press release. "This agreement gives managers greater spend visibility and the insight to make better-informed spending decisions."
