Every year, American Banker collaborates with Best Companies Group to rank employees' favorite credit unions across the country. Last year, 68 credit unions were included on the list. The honorees were noted for providing staff members with outstanding benefits, unusual perks and a fun work environment.
There is no cost to apply and participate. Credit unions must have at least 15 employees working in the United States, and must have been in business for at least one year.

The rankings are determined by two assessments conducted by the Best Companies Group: a questionnaire completed by the credit union's management team about employee benefits and policies, and an in-depth survey that staff members take regarding their experiences in the workplace.
