Arkansas.gov Goes Mobile

Arkansans can now make payments to the state government over their mobile phones.

The mobile version of Arkansas.gov allows payments for three categories the state has categorized as "high volume": deposits to inmate trust accounts; payments for probation, parole supervision, and restitution; and property tax payments.

"With today's launch, we are excited to be the first state to offer integrated online services and secure payments through a user-friendly Web site that is optimized for mobile users," Claire Bailey, the state's chief information officer, said in a press release Thursday.

Arkansas also allows real-time game tagging through the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and iPhone apps for two government Web sites.
