Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., an international insurance brokerage and risk management services firm in Itasca, Ill., has bought Woods & Grooms Inc. of Columbus, Ind.
Woods & Grooms is a retail insurance broker and group captive administrator. Since opening in 1969 it has offered risk management, commercial property/casualty insurance services, and captive management services to the diesel engine distribution industry.
The acquisition was announced Thursday. The price was not disclosed. Phillip L. Woods, Michael W. Willett, and their associates will continue in their present roles from their current location in Indiana. They will work for David J. McManus, the president of Artex Risk Solutions, Inc., Arthur J. Gallagher's international captive subsidiary.
Arthur J. Gallagher has operations in seven countries and does business in more than 100 countries.
