Axa Equitable Life Insurance Co., a New York unit of Axa SA, said it had hired Bill McDermott to be an executive vice president of corporate markets.
Mr. McDermott, who was also named to the company's executive management committee, is to be in charge of developing retirement products and services for Fortune 1000 companies - a new venture for Axa Equitable, the company announced in a press release on Monday.
He had worked for 11 years at Fidelity Investments in Boston, most recently as executive vice president of large corporate market retirement services for Fidelity Employer Services Co. in Marlborough, Mass.
Axa Equitable had more than 11,000 employees and salespeople and about 4.8 million policy/contract holders at Dec. 31.
