Columbia Management, Bank of America Corp.'s investment arm, promoted Colin Moore to chief investment officer.
Mr. Moore, the head of Columbia's equity investing, is to expand his responsibilities to direct all the unit's investment activities, the company said on Thursday. He will report to Keith Banks, the president of Columbia Management.
Since joining Columbia as head of equities in 2002, Mr. Moore has led a team of about 185 professionals that now manages about $269 billion of equity investments. Previously, he was the chief investment officer for global and international equities at Putnam Investments LLC in Boston.
Mr. Moore is to spearhead the development and implementation of Columbia's proprietary alternative investment product offering.
Columbia Management, which is based in Boston, had $566 billion of assets under management at June 30.
