Bancinsurance Corp. of Columbus, Ohio, a specialty property and casualty insurance holding company, announced that its chairman and chief executive, Si Sokol, has retired and that his son, John S. Sokol, is now its chairman and CEO.

Mr. Sokol, 79, also retired as chairman and CEO of the company's Ohio Indemnity Co. subsidiary. He had been Bancinsurance's chairman since its formation in 1970 and its CEO since 1980.
John Sokol, 45, has been the president of Bancinsurance and Ohio Indemnity since 1999 and will remain president of both.
