BankAmerica offers quake relief grants.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - BankAmeica Corp. said it will make available $25,000 for an existing grant program to benefit nonprofit organizations working on earthquake relief in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Applications for grants of up to $5,000 are being accepted by branch managers from organizations providing food, clothing, shelter, medical aid, or other vital services for quake victims.

Also as part of an earthquake response program, BankAmerica offered emergency financing for small businesses, personal loans of $1,000 to $7,500 at special rates, 90-day home equity loans of $7,501 to $25,000 at a special fixed rate of 4% with no fees or points, easier terms for existing Bank of America and Security Pacific National Bank loan customers, and a waiving of withdrawal penalties on time deposits.
