Barclays Adds Sales Exec

Barclays Global Investors has appointed a Vanguard Group Inc. executive to be the national sales manager of its registered investment adviser team.

In the newly created post, Sue Thompson is to oversee distribution of Barclays' iShares exchange-traded funds to registered investment advisers, the company said on Monday. Ms. Thompson was a vice president at Vanguard, where she had run the national full-service, broker-dealer sales team for the financial adviser services group since 2005.

Barclays Global, a San Francisco subsidiary of Barclays Bank PLC in London, had more than 2,900 institutional clients and $1.8 trillion of assets under management at Dec. 31.
