Evergreen Investments, the asset management arm of Wachovia Corp., has hired Kent Baur as managing director and senior portfolio specialist for its London subsidiary, European Credit Management.
Mr. Baur will support the sale and distribution of European Credit Management's products and strategies in North America.
European Credit Management, manages European corporate bonds, bank capital, European emerging markets, asset-backed securities, and leveraged loans for institutional clients. It had $32 billion of assets under management as of June 30. Evergreen bought it this year.
Mr. Baur was an executive vice president for Invesmart Inc. and the chief executive officer of an advisory subsidiary, Invesmart Advisors. Previously he had been a managing director at Montgomery Asset Management.
Evergreen, which announced the hiring Thursday, had $285 billion of assets under management on Sept. 30.
