BayBanks Boston unit elevates Hedgespeth.

Grady B. Hedgespeth has been elected a regional president of Bay Bank Boston, a subsidiary of the $9.5 billion-asset Bay-Banks Inc.

Mr. Hedgespeth will oversee the company's continued expansion into Boston Communities and the implementation of its Neighborhood Banking program.

In addition, Mr. Hedgespeth will be responsible for developing and implementing business and community outreach programs intended to stimulate economic activity and provide needed banking services.

He will report directly to Richard F. Pollard chairman and president of Bay Bank Boston.

Mr. Hedgespeth was formerly principal of Resolution Enterprises, a financial services and community affairs consulting firm.

He has also worked as secretary of the Massachusetts executive office of economic affairs and was deputy commissioner of child support enforcement services for the Massachusetts, Department of Revenue.
