BCB in N.J. Sells Preferred Stock

BCB Bancorp has sold $2.4 million of preferred stock in a private placement.

The holding company for the $1.3 billion-asset BCB Community Bank in Bayonne, N.J., plans to use the proceeds primarily to bolster the bank's capital, a company press release said.

BCB offered 235 newly issued shares of Series C 6% noncumulative perpetual preferred stock at $10,000 per share to certain investors.

The sale closed July 13.
