IBC Bank of Laredo, TX, has delivered on plans to offer bilingual mobile banking services. IBC, the flagship bank of one of the state’s largest bank holding companies, launched the new m-banking service that will include English and Spanish language options for activities including account queries, interbank account transfers and billpay for its ethnically diverse region.
The IBC service runs on a platform built by mFoundry. Both firms announced plans for the two-language setup last November.
The multi-language capability ranks as another chit for mFoundry—BTN’s Top Technology Company to Watch in 2008—which markets the customizable features of its core platform, Spotlight Financial, in the growing stew of nascent mobile banking standards.
