Credit card bills are more likely than other types to be paid online, according to a report the Santa Clara, Calif., payment software provider Billeo Inc. released Monday.
The second most common type of bill to be paid online was utilities, followed by telephone, cable or satellite television, wireless phone, and insurance, according to the report.
Billeo, which surveyed consumers this year about their online payment habits, also found that the average payment to credit card issuers was $602, the highest for any of the categories it evaluated.
After cards, the largest average payment was for insurance ($319), followed by utilities ($217), cable or satellite TV ($162), wireless phones ($159), and other phones ($143).
