Bluepoint Solutions Inc. has begun offering a mobile remote deposit capture system.
The new system, called QwikDeposit To Go, uses image-capture technology from Mitek Systems Inc. It allows consumers to deposit checks from smartphones by photographing both sides of a check with the phone's built-in camera.
"The fusion of Mitek's advanced image-capture technology with Bluepoint's proven remote deposit capture and item processing aggregation engine provides institutions with a sophisticated and reliable mobile capture application," Hal Tilbury, Bluepoint's founder and chief executive, said in a press release Thursday.
Rising smartphone adoption and higher consumer demand for mobile banking services have "created a perfect storm for mobile capture," Tilbury said.
