BNY Mellon Wealth Management Names Sappington National Banking Head

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. Monday named Bill E. Sappington to the newly created post of executive vice president and head of national banking for BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

The financial-services giant said Sappington will lead the expansion and delivery of banking services to private clients, overseeing banking groups in all of the company's U.S. markets. BNY Mellon Wealth Management has more than $5 billion in loans and mortgages, and $10 billion in deposits.

Sappington was previously head of credit and lending for the Private Client Services group at Bear Stearns Cos.
