James T. Boone, president and chief executive officer of Grenada Sunburst System Corp., Grenada, Miss., has also become chairman, succeeding Robert E. Kennington 2d.
Mr. Kennington,-who retired as CEO in 1992, will continue as a director of the company as well as chairman emeritus.
Mr. Boone is also president and CEO of the lead subsidiary, Sunburst Bank Mississippi.
Mr. Boone began is banking career in Jackson in 1973. He joined Sunburst Bank in 1974 as lending officer and later became president of the bank in Sumner in 1976.
In May 1988, upon Sunburst's entry into Louisiana through purchase of Capital Bank in Baton Rouge, he was elected president and CEO in that state.
He returned to Mississippi in 1990 as president of the holding company and was named president and CEO of the lead bank a year later.
