Brodhead Bancshares in Wisconsin buys neighboring bank

Brodhead Bancshares in Wisconsin has bought Farmers & Merchants Bank of Orfordville in Wisconsin.

Brodhead, the parent of the $155.4 million-asset Bank of Brodhead, did not disclose how much it paid for the $54.8 million-asset Farmers & Merchants.

Brodhead Bancshares now has two branches, $168 million in deposits and $123.2 million in loans.

Farmers & Merchants is the 17th bank in Wisconsin to be sold this year.
