Business First in La. to Move HQ to Renovated Historic Building

Business First Bank will use state tax credits to renovate a historic building in downtown Baton Rouge, La., and move its headquarters to the facility.

The $1.1 billion-asset bank will move 65 employees to the 500 Laurel Street building from its current headquarters at 8440 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, pending regulatory approval.

Business First will oversee the redevelopment of the 1955 building, using historic tax credits from the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office. The building, which previously housed Union Federal Savings & Loan, will also be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Business First will occupy four of the building's six floors, taking about 20,000 square feet of office space. Business First will also add a branch office to the building and house an operations center there.
