Canadian CU Plans Processing Upgrade

Osoyoos Credit Union is planning to install a core processing system from Open Solutions Inc.

The Osoyoos, Canada, credit union is now using a core processing system from Datawest Solutions Inc., which Open Solutions bought in 2004. Open Solutions, a Glastonbury, Conn., vendor, said Wednesday that the credit union has agreed to shift to its Complete Credit Union Solution: DNA application.

The software uses a relational database from Oracle Corp. that lets employees see customers' entire relationship with the credit union, including all their accounts, loans, and other banking products used.

The $80 million-asset credit union's customers include many summer residents and retirees in the resort area, and it said it needed to match the financial companies in Canada's largest cities, where many of its members live. "Our basic goal is to provide the same or better service to our members that they would receive if they were anywhere else," D.W. Collins, Osoyoos Credit Union's general manager, said in the Open Solutions press release.
