Capital Briefs: House Panel to Vote on ATM Fee Disclosure

The House Banking Committee's financial institutions subcommittee is to vote today on an automated teller machine disclosure bill.

Rep. Marge Roukema, R-N.J., who introduced the legislation, canceled a July 18 vote, saying lawmakers needed more time to study the bill. The measure would require banks to post a notice on ATM machines and video screens notifying consumers of any surcharge. The vote is to begin at 2 p.m.
